Billing and stock software for plywood, board and hardware dealers in India and the UAE
Plywood is bought and stocked in sheets but quoted, and often sold, by the square foot. The software has to hold both at once, so nobody at the counter is doing the arithmetic on a calculator and hoping the stock agrees later.
Board dealers, and the shops that sell beside them
This page is for the business that sells plywood, laminate, MDF and boards with hardware alongside, usually with a carpenter or an architect somewhere in the sale.
- Plywood, laminate and board dealers and distributors
- Hardware and building-material shops selling boards by the sheet or the square foot
- Dealers whose sales come through carpenters and architects
- Shops that cut to size and deliver to site
Sheets in stock, square feet on the bill
Every board item carries its size, so the area of any quantity is worked out rather than typed.
Board details on the item
Grade (MR, BWR, BWP, Marine and others), thickness, and length and width in feet or millimetres. The area of one sheet is worked out from them.
Square-foot quotations
Price a line per square foot or per sheet. The quote shows the working, such as 2 sheets × 32 = 64 sq.ft, keeps its revisions and turns into an invoice or a challan.
Area on every document
Invoices, returns, purchases and challans store the area on each line and print it: sheets, area and rate per square foot.
Sheet stock and the Board Stock report
Stock is kept in sheets. The Board Stock report shows sheets, area and value by grade, thickness and size.
Cutting, loading and delivery charges
Charges go on the bill below the goods, each with its own GST or VAT rate shown on the bill. Cutting and loading come set up; delivery is added the same way.
Carpenter and architect commission
The carpenter or architect is recorded on every sale and return. A report works out each one's commission at their own percentage on sales less returns, before tax.
Received by
The invoice and the challan record who took the goods, and the print says so.
Damaged stock location
Damaged sheets are moved out of saleable stock into their own location, then written off or counted, so they are never sold by mistake.
Sales returns
Returns are pulled from the original invoice and keep the carpenter or architect, so commission stays right.
A job from quote to commission
Quote in square feet
The customer or the carpenter gets a quote by area, with sheets worked out behind it.
Convert and bill
The accepted quote becomes the invoice, with cutting and loading charges added.
Deliver
Goods go out on the invoice or a challan, with who received them recorded.
Handle what comes back
Returns pull from the invoice; damaged sheets move to the damaged location.
Settle commission
At month end the commission report shows what each carpenter and architect has earned.

The honest boundary
There is no cutting optimisation and no off-cut stock: quantity is always whole sheets of the item's size. Commission is a report, not a payment, so nothing is posted to the accounts until you post it. The carpenter or architect is a field on the sale and the party, not a separate ledger of their own.

Questions we get asked
Can we quote in square feet and keep stock in sheets?
Yes. Each board item holds its size, so a quote or invoice priced per square foot still moves whole sheets in stock.
How are cutting and loading charges taxed?
Each charge carries its own GST or VAT rate, shown on the bill, rather than borrowing the rate of the goods above it.
How is carpenter commission worked out?
Each carpenter or architect has a percentage. The report applies it to their sales less returns, before tax, for the period you choose.
What happens to damaged sheets?
They are moved to a damaged location that cannot be sold from, then written off or counted.
Does it work for a dealer in the UAE?
Yes. A UAE branch prices by the square metre, charges VAT, prints the TRN and gives FTA VAT 201 figures, in AED.
